Brooklyn has been doing very well for the past few days with sleeping in her crib. Yesterday at naptime she just layed down and went to sleep. Last night she was tired and ready for bed but didn't want to stop playing with her new baby doll. All I had to say was "Brooklyn, lay down." And poof, she layed down and was out in less than a minute. Same thing happened today at naptime. This is very exciting for me! I have my bed back! I know that she is a baby, but she is such a bed hogger.
Well, I'm also excited because Halloween is this weekend and Brooklyn is going to have so much fun! She has a lamb costume and we are going to buy little things that she can keep to remember this halloween. We have been trying very hard to get her to say BAAAA but she absolutely won't do it.
Today has been a very busy day for me. I had four loads of laundry to wash, dry, fold, and put away. On top of that, I decided that I needed to wash my complete bed set because lately I've been bitten by bedbugs. It's not pleasant at all. So I've washed almost all the pillows(we have eight on our bed) and the sheets, but I still have three more pillows to wash, five pillows to dry, the sheets and pillowcases need to dry, and the blanket needs to be washed and dried.
So I guess I should get off of here and finish what I started so I can sleep in my bed tonight. Oh how I hate having OCD sometimes. Everyone have a happy and safe halloween!(That's just in case I don't post before then.)

The past few days have been... unpredictable, to put it lightly. That is the reason for my lack of new posts. Brooklyn is learning new things everyday. She has learned that she is tall enough to get things off of tables and things of that nature. She is finally getting better about eating her meals at meal times.
Nick has accepted a normal job instead of dealing with the hectic hours that are required when you start a business. He is guaranteed forty hours a week and a regular amount of income for us to be able to budget with. I'm so excited that he is going to be able to know when he is going to have to leave in the morning and when he will get back! It means more time for Brooklyn to play with her daddy and more time for us to spend together and just talk or figure stuff out.
I too have been trying to get a job at AMC 30, and the manager that I've been talking with has been trying really hard to get me a job there. If I get the job, I'm going to be able to get a new car before my current one croaks. Once we both get our job situations figured out we will be able to get a place of our own where Brooklyn can have her own room for all of her toys and furniture. Lol her things have been just taking over our room since she was born. So we are very much looking forward to having our own place where she can have her own place.
Well I guess that's it for now. My little trouble maker needs a nap before she causes any more destruction to the living room. Talk to you all later!

Ode To Motherhood
They say the child chooses
the parent before
they are conceived.
God gave me lists
of mother's names
and pictures of them too.
I looked and looked
they all looked the same
and then I saw you.
Who is this woman?
I asked the Lord
She looks quite nice to me.
You have chosen well my child.
And he spoke these words to me.
She is Kind and Gentle
and very Wise
and she will hold you
close to her
when you cry.
Her eyes will shine
when you take your first step
and smile at your delight.
She will show her pride
when you succeed
and pick you up
when you fall.
She will work hard
to give you the best she can
and rock you to sleep with weary time worn hands.
She will shelter you
on stormy days
and dry your tears away.
She will bask with you
in sunshine on
sunny summer days.
And when you are grown
like you soon will be
She will still be there
To comfort thee.
I choose her.
I told the Lord
For none like her
I've seen before.
And the day came
when I was born.
I had chosen well
of this I'm sure.
I picked you
above the rest
and because I did
My life is blessed
the parent before
they are conceived.
God gave me lists
of mother's names
and pictures of them too.

Pictures of my Cutie Pie!
All of these pictures are recent, within the past month, actually, it's closer to all of them being taken within the past two weeks.
These two pictures were in the waiting area of a mechanic's shop. She was so good the whole time!
So these next three with Brooklyn in the pink pants is a daily occurance for her. She loves to climb on her toy chest which is placed behind the loveseat. She climbs up there every day and just looks so darn proud of herself. These three are of Brooklyn, her Aunt Heather, and her Uncle Jake all in their sleepers! Too funny!
These four pictures are of Brooklyn's bedhead, also a daily occurance. Lol.
These four were taken yesterday after Brooklyn woke up from her nap. She didn't nap for long enough so she was super grumpy. :(
These last pictures were all taken today, Brooklyn has been in a very ornery mood all day today, climbing on the table, breaking a lamp, etc. She takes the cutest pictures when she causes trouble.
Brooklyn is absolutely in love with her blog! She loves looking at all the pictures of babies and she dances to the music like crazy. She's too cute. I think I'm going to try to teach her the word blog.
Anyways, an update on the sleeping situation with the littlest Foley. Last night she was not cooperating at all with sleeping in her crib, so I figured since she's been doing so great, that I'd let her try to fall asleep with her daddy and then transfer Brooklyn to the crib. The plan was a success in completing. But an hour after I put her in the crib she woke up screaming. So daddy took her up to the kitchen and got her a drink. Once she had been hydrated, Daddy brought her down to me and I attempted to put her back to sleep. But as soon as she left Daddy's arms and into mine, she once again began to scream. Basically she spent the whole night in our bed cuddled up with her daddy. I feel like I'm back to the drawing board. But I haven't completely given up yet, I'm going to keep trying for at least a couple days. Wish me luck.

CHAOS!!!!
As I type this, the house is a total wreck thanks to my daughter. But, that's life with a one year old. Last night, Brooklyn continued in her amazingness with bedtime. I was prepared for a struggle, but she just layed down after I gave her her pacifier, and I gave her her baby doll, and she just curled up in a ball and went to sleep. It took all of a minute and a half! I was in total shock. But I guess it was a good thing, because it means that she's getting used to sleeping in her crib. I'm trying to put interesting things on this blog so that it is not only fun for Brooklyn in the future, but also special to all that read this blog. Brooklyn is officially a walker now. A child development specialist told me that babies are not considered fully walking until they can get into a standing position from a sitting position without the aid of anything or anyone. And Miss Brooklyn does that now.
The month of September was difficult for our family. Brooklyn turned a year old so we took away her bottles and stopped giving her formula. Instead, she got sippy cups and whole milk. She also transitioned from baby food to table food. And then she started sleeping in her crib during nap time. Anyways, all in all Brooklyn did very well adapting to all the changes that were occuring.
Well, it's time for me to get Brooklyn down for a nap, so for now this is goodbye. :( Talk to you all again soon!

Oh my gosh!!! So exciting!!!
Brooklyn put up quite a fight last night going to sleep in her crib,we are trying to get her to sleep in it all night long. Well, lately she falls asleep pretty quickly, two songs that I sing to her, and she only sleeps in her crib for two hours. Then she comes to bed with us. But last night, she struggled to go to sleep, and finally after nine different five minute songs, she fell asleep. I had decided that since I had managed to survive that that I would just stick to my guns and not let her into bed with us all night. But it turned out that Brooklyn ended up sleeping for a whopping 9 hours in her crib, she still isn't up to the 11 that she sleeps every night, but we might get there sooner than 2011. I was soooo excited!!!
Brooklyn is practically unstoppable lately. She is constantly going from room to room messing everything up and just having a blast. It makes for a very tired mommy who spends her day trying to run after her and clean up the mess as it happens, as it turns out, that doesn't work when you have a one year old. I miss the days that I could just spend one of her naps cleaning bottles or whatever and not have to worry about cleaning up her messes because she was too little to make them. But these days are much more interesting. Filled with conversations with puppies and dolls and chairs, pretty much anything that she has at eye level. And she just loves to dance.
She loves all kind of music, and has different dances for different types. She has a 'rocknroll' dance, a 'kiddie' dance, and the 'funny' dance that she does to make people laugh. I'm dreading winter with such a crazy go go go baby. She loves playing outside! I try to take her to the park on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure she would be elated if I took her everyday three or four times a day. LOL.
I think that's it for now... I managed to sneak some time in during naptime(SHHH don't tell her I put her down to talk to you all). I'll try to get some more pictures on here.
God Bless!

First Time Post!
Brooklyn was born on September 2nd, 2009 at 9:01pm weighing 8lbs 13oz. She was 20 3/4 inches long. From the moment she was born, I was in love! She had beautiful blue grey eyes that for the first few weeks of her life she just observed with. She stared at everything and everyone.
She has always been perfect to me. She slept "through the night" her second night home from the hospital. Mind you, for Nick and I that meant that she fell asleep with me at midnight, and woke up with him around 5am. She wasn't a baby that spit up, or cried for no reason, she was also very strong. She held her head up at two weeks, and it stayed up from then on.
As she started getting older, she reached milestones right on schedule, which made me happy because she was developing normally, but sad also because she was already growing up. Because she was so big when she was born, she was in the 90th percentile up until her four month check up. When they told me that she was 16lbs 10oz, and 25 inches tall, I was shocked! That day I went home and started researching carseats because at that rate she was going to outgrow it by the time she was nine months old. She ended up getting a Graco MyRide 65, which will rearface her until she is 40 lbs, and then forward face to 65lbs.
Then her daddy went away for two months. Those two months were very hard on both Brooklyn and I. For me I had lost my helpmate temporarily, but it was more than that. My baby changed the day her daddy left. She got very sad and very worried that Mommy was going to leave too, therefore every time I left her sight she cried and screamed. She also struggled with eating. She normally ate four six-ounce bottles a day along with baby food, but while daddy was gone, it was all I could do to get her to eat four ounces three times a day. She also had a double ear infection, her first one, so I had to help her all by myself.
The day daddy came back our happy little girl returned as well. She ate four six ounce bottles that day and also wanted more. At her nine month check up, she had only gained three pounds, putting her at 19lbs, 10oz. An average baby gains two to four pounds a month, yet in five months, she had only gained three pounds. Something else happened at her nine month check up. She saw babies crawling all over the place! A week after that, she was crawling everywhere. A week after that she was cruising around furniture. Brooklyn was done taking it easy on me.
The week of her first birthday, she started walking. Her birthday was on a Thursday this year, we blew a few balloons and had a little cake. On Saturday we had her party at a park. Her theme was Sesame Street babies because she absolutely adores Elmo! Nick's mom even made a tutu for her. It was a beautiful day for a party and we all had a great time.
It is now about two weeks after she turned 13 months old. Brooklyn just goes and goes until she lays down for bed. She walks all by herself now, climbs on furniture, has conversations with both inanimate and animate objects. She thinks that she can tickle anyone just by touching them. She loves all things stuffed, teddy bears and dolls. She says Ma-Ma, Da-da, Na-Na(Grandma), Paw-Paw(Grandpa), He-ra(Her aunt heather), Gog(Dog), Ba(Bottle, Ball), Da(Baby, That), Ya-you(Love You), Bite, and NO! She has a very large vocabulary for a 13 month old. She also gives kisses and hugs and her little smile can make everything better.
I will be posting frequently, giving updates since everyday Brooklyn is learning something new or saying something cute or something. This is going to be a memory keeper for me, a keepsake that she can look at when she gets bigger, and a way for people that don't get to see her on a regular basis to be a part of her life. I normally going to add pictures with the post, but because this one was so large, I am going to do a separate picture post right now.
